We all know from where it came from, but still who are unaware of the incident should know.

Narova kunjrova is a half sentence told by Yudhisthir in the Great Indian Epic Mahabharat.

Here is the incident first.

In Mahabharat, Dronacharya (acharya = teacher) was the teacher to the Hastinapur Kuru princes - the Pandavs and the Kauravs.  Drona was taught the art of warfare by the great master teacher of the time ‘Guru Parshuram’ - himself.  Drona loved and respected the Pandavs, especially Arjun, who was his favorite, but Dronacharya was obligated to Bhishma Pitamah (grandfather-like to the Kuru princes), for helping him in his time of need.  In the Kurukshetra war, Bhishma, had to be with the Kauravs and became their wartime commander but was felled by Arjun.  Drona, siding with the Kauravs, was made the commander of the Kaurav army immediately.

As the war progressed, Drona, with impeccable wartime prowess, was responsible for devising the Chakravyuha that trapped Abhimanyu, Arjun's son, who was eventually killed as a lone soldier by more than one soldier of the Kauravs - a serious violation of the rules of engagement of the war. At that point all bets were off as far as Krishna and the Pandavs were concerned.

Drona being a formidable warrior, it would be difficult to stop him and the only weakness that seemed to stop him was his affection for his son Ashwathama, who was also participating in the war on the Kaurav's side.  Krishna asked Bhim, one of the 5 Pandav brothers, to find an elephant named ‘Ashwatthama’ and kill him.  Bhima does just that and announces in the presence of Drona that ‘Ashwatthama’ is dead.  Drona does not believe Bhima's claim and asks ‘Yudhishthir’, who was the most honest person known to mankind.  Yudhishthir confirms it by saying “Yes Ashwathama is dead.” He pauses for a while and adds another sentence under his breath, “I don’t know if it’s the man or the elephant.” (Ashwathama hata:ha iti, narova kunjarova)  As Yudhishthir is stating the last part ' human or elephant ' the Pandav side of the army starts to blow the conches and Drona only hears Ashwatthama is slain. (another story is Shri Krishna told Yudhisthir to lie but Yudhisthir speaks truth first then half a lie.)  He falls to the ground in gloom and grief.  As he lays his weapons down, ‘Dhrishtadyumna’, the commander-in-chief of the Pandavs, kills Drona.

This is how Dranacharya was killed and turned the winning side of war.

Just imagine what if Drona had not too believed ‘Yudhisthir’ and waited for the body of his son ‘Ashwatthama’ or What if he had listened the full sentence and got the real meaning of Yudhisthir saying. Definitely he would not lay his weapons down, didn’t get killed and would not loose the war afterwards. The whole new results.

Narova Kunjrova : So, whats in it for these days?

Yudhisthir, a most honest and trustworthy person we know. Print & TV media are also the medium we always trust. Medias are actually mediums to reach us to the outer world and vice versa. They bring us latest news of our city, state, nation and world. What they say we believe and get influenced by the news. In that manner medias have great power to show and bring the truth to the people. Great powers comes with greater responsibilities; same as Yudhisthir. He was the most trustworthy person; but to win the war, of course for bring humanity in the world he had to speak half the truth.

In the same manner comparing medias with the Yudhisthir; Medias too have great responsibility. But at every point medias are telling half the truth and it is not to bring humanity or any kind of help to the humanity.

Actually we all people are in place of Drona, Print & TV media are being Yudhisthir. What they say believe. We never questions on their righteousness. That’s why we (Dronas) are being killed. These medias have powers to influence the people on any kind of matter and they are doing it cleverly but on the negative side. It feels like in this era Yudhisthir having responsibilities of being truthful is taking side of Kauravas-the people who want to divide and break the nation. Medias giving news with half truth, manipulated facts and showing only one side of the coin. They don’t dig matters and/or giving news taking side of people whom they like to. And we only think we are seeing both sides of coin and judge the matter on that basis only. But this act of medias are truly inhuman and unforgivable because their acts actually divide the people of nation and making people to hate each other.

Medias are giving everyone a cast identity whoever got victim and playing victim cards and then play with our feelings, religious emotions and we stupid people come into their ChakraVyuh and start hating others’ cast, community, and religion and fight with each other.

Just think what if medias stop playing card of cast and community identity. Will be there hatred for other people? No, it will be reduced much.

Medias have now no control and if government tries to put control over them they will play the victim card on themselves, freedom of speech and God knows what they will find creative way to influence us.

In last, I don’t want to advice any kind of medias but I want to advice you that don’t be Drona. Dig the matters or you will get killed.
